Who we are

This website is owned and published by Life Claim, a law firm that represents beneficiaries with delayed and denied life insurance and accidental death (AD&D) claims. The firm built this site as a free, plain-English reference on the laws behind those claims.

Stephanie Prestridge, Co-Founder of Life Claim, is the attorney responsible for this site. Stephanie leads an experienced team of legal and medical professionals who have collectively reviewed more than 15,000 delayed and denied life insurance and AD&D claims.

What the site covers

Each guide explains one reason a claim gets delayed or denied, such as the contestability period, late payment and interest rules or a policy lapse, and links every rule to the statute, regulation or court decision it comes from. Because life insurance is regulated state by state, each guide says which state’s law a rule comes from. See the editorial policy.
